Project Model Disability Survey
This project aims to implement a Model Disability Survey in which survey questions will gather information both on the health state of an individual – impairments and limitations in capacity to function – as well as features of the environment that facilitate or create barriers to functioning.
This webpage presents the work that is being done in preparation to the implementation of the survey.
You can find the following information per world region:
- countries in which disability surveys have been performed,
- name of the survey,
- year of the last wave, and
- link to the survey webpage.
For a variety of surveys you can also find the following information in form of tables:
(1) chapters of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) addressed in the survey; (2) number of items addressing disability (None; 1 to 5; 5 to 10; 10 to 20; More than 20); (3) whether capacity or performance are addressed in the survey; (4) time frame of the disability questions; (5) scaling of response options of disability questions (frequency; severity; Yes/No), (6) inclusion of validated instruments (SF-36; WHODAS; Washington Group (WG) brief set; others; none); (7) screener questions used for each section; and 8) general impressions about the survey and the way disability was addressed.
Also for a selected number of surveys, you will find in addition the mapping of each question of the survey to the ICF.
